Day to day Best of Tanzania Safari Itinerary

Day 1:

Day 1 - Arusha - Tarangire National Park

Pick up from Arusha early in the morning and drive for around 2 hours along a nice paved road to Tarangire National Park. This park is along the way when you take the Arusha – Dodoma Road, past Makuyuni Junction.

Tarangire National Park is the place to be if you want to see elephant herds in large numbers, as well as other big game and diverse birdlife. Dotted with gigantic baobab trees, Tarangire is one of the few parks where you can spot most of the Big Five, including leopards, buffaloes, lions, and elephants (except rhinos). The park derives its name from the Tarangire River, which flows across the park, keeping wildlife abundant throughout the year.

You will enjoy game drives until late afternoon, then transfer to Karatu, where you will spend the night at Gibbs Farm. Lunch and dinner included.

Travel Time

Morning: Pick-up from your hotel in Arusha and depart for Tarangire National Park (approx. 2-hour drive).

Day 2:

Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive to Karatu

Following your breakfast, embark on a thrilling adventure by descending to the Ngorongoro Crater, renowned for its abundance of wildlife, including the famous Big 5. Enjoy a game drive within the crater and take in the stunning scenery while looking out for the various animal species that call the crater home. During your excursion, take a break and savor a delightful picnic lunch at the well-known hippo pool, and proceed to Karatu for Overnight.
After breakfast, head to Serengeti National Park, passing through Karatu and Ngorongoro. Travel into the Serengeti’s vast plains and go to the Seronera area, rich in wildlife and with the Seronera River. Have lunch and enjoy an afternoon in the park. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Heritage Lodge.

Have a picnic lunch in the peaceful park, then go on an exciting game drive. Later, drive three hours back to Arusha, remembering the amazing moments from your safari.
