Tour Itinerary

Full 6-Day Tanzania Safari Itinerary (Detailed)

Day 1:

Arrive at Isebania Border – Transfer to Northern Serengeti (Kogatende)

Kogatende Game Drive Adventure

After finishing border procedures at Isebania, your Seko Tours driver-guide will warmly welcome you on the Tanzanian side. From there, we drive straight into Northern Serengeti, heading to the Kogatende area. This region is famous for the Mara River crossing, one of the most exciting parts of the Great Migration.

You will enjoy a short game drive on your way to the lodge, where you might spot elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and if lucky, even big cats like lions and leopards.

Pro Tip:

Visit Kogatende between July and October for the dramatic Mara River crossings. The golden light and fewer crowds make for an unforgettable safari!

Day 2:

Full Day Game Drive in Northern Serengeti – Mara River Area

Today is a full day to explore the Northern Serengeti. We start early, after breakfast, and drive towards the Mara River, searching for the famous wildebeest river crossing. This area is packed with action — crocodiles wait in the river, while lions, cheetahs, and hyenas watch nearby.

You will also see herds of elephants, buffalo, antelope, and maybe a leopard resting in the trees. We stop for a picnic lunch in the bush, then continue with game drives in the afternoon.

Day 3:

Transfer to Central Serengeti (Seronera) – Game Drive En Route

After breakfast, we begin a slow game drive heading south toward Central Serengeti (Seronera area). Along the way, you’ll pass through changing landscapes — from rolling hills and woodlands in the north to open savannah in the central region.

This is a full-day adventure, with plenty of stops to watch animals like zebras, lions, cheetahs, and even leopards. Central Serengeti is one of the best places in Tanzania to see wildlife all year round.

Day 4:

Full Day Game Drive in Central Serengeti

This day is all about exploring the Seronera Valley, the heart of Serengeti National Park. You’ll have the chance to see all the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino — though rhinos are rare here), plus many other animals.

We do morning and afternoon game drives with a relaxing lunch at the lodge or as a picnic in the park. The Central Serengeti is also home to many resident animals, so even during low migration months, you can see a lot.

Day 5:

Serengeti – Game Drive – Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater Rim (via Olduvai Gorge)

We enjoy one last game drive in Serengeti this morning, then slowly head toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On the way, you can stop for a short visit at Olduvai Gorge, a famous archaeological site known as the “Cradle of Mankind”.

In the afternoon, we reach the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. The views from up here are amazing! You can see the entire crater floor from your lodge. Rest and enjoy the cool air at the higher altitude.

Day 6:

Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive – Lake Manyara Game Drive – Transfer to Arusha

After lunch, we drive out and continue to Lake Manyara National Park for a short afternoon game drive. Here, you may see tree-climbing lions, baboons, elephants, and lots of birds.

Later, we drive back to Arusha where the safari ends.
