Pro Tip:

Flying from Arusha to Serengeti is the ultimate safari hack! Instead of spending 6+ hours on bumpy roads, a short 45-minute flight gets you straight into the heart of the park. Not only does this save time, but it also keeps you refreshed and ready to dive into your first game drive without exhaustion. You start your adventure energized, maximizing wildlife sightings and making the most of your safari experience!

Day 2:

Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

After a peaceful night’s sleep and a tasty breakfast, you’ll head out for a full-day safari in Serengeti. This day is all about exploring and finding the best wildlife sightings with your expert guide. Serengeti is one of the most famous parks in the world, and for good reason. The animals are everywhere!

Your guide will take you to different areas based on the season and wildlife activity. You’ll search for the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino — and enjoy spotting other animals like wildebeests, zebras, antelopes, crocodiles, and hippos. The Serengeti is also home to over 500 bird species.

If you’re lucky and traveling between July and October, you might witness the Great Migration, when millions of animals move across the plains. This is one of nature’s most amazing sights.

Lunch will be served as a picnic in the wild or back at the lodge. In the evening, return to Melia Serengeti Lodge for a warm shower, dinner, and stories around the campfire.

Optional Activity: Add a sunrise hot air balloon safari for an unforgettable bird’s eye view of the Serengeti. Glide silently over the golden plains as the sun rises, then enjoy a special champagne breakfast in the bush. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience perfect for couples, honeymooners, and photographers. Your guide will help arrange it for you (extra cost applies).

Experience the Magic of a Balloon Safari

A balloon safari is not just a tour—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Conducted inside the national park, this exclusive experience allows you to soar above the breathtaking landscapes, offering an unparalleled view of the wildlife below.

Though it comes at a premium price, every moment is worth it. The early morning start is crucial—it’s when the savannah is alive with movement, and the golden sunrise paints the sky in dazzling hues. From above, you’ll witness elephants marching in herds, lions prowling through the grass, and giraffes gracefully wandering—all in their natural habitat, undisturbed.

More than just a safari, this is a chance to see the wild from a completely new perspective. The serenity of the flight, the thrill of spotting animals from above, and the unforgettable views make it an experience that simply has no comparison.

Day 3:

Travel to Ngorongoro & Explore the Crater

After breakfast, it’s time to leave the Serengeti and drive towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive takes around 3–4 hours but offers beautiful views of the countryside and wildlife along the way. You’ll pass Maasai villages and rolling hills before reaching the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.

You’ll descend into the crater — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best wildlife areas in Africa. The crater is like a natural zoo. It holds thousands of animals in one place, including the Big Five. You’ll spot herds of zebras, elephants, wildebeests, lions, and maybe the rare black rhino.

You’ll stop at the Hippo Pool for a picnic lunch and enjoy watching the animals from a safe distance. Your guide will explain the geology and history of the crater, as well as fun facts about the animals.

In the evening, you’ll head to the elegant Melia Ngorongoro Lodge where you’ll stay in the Enkaji Junior Suite. Enjoy dinner and relax with amazing views over the crater rim.

Day 4:

Game Drive in Tarangire & Return to Arusha

After breakfast and checking out, your journey continues to Tarangire National Park — a hidden gem and often less crowded than Serengeti or Ngorongoro. The drive takes about 2.5 to 3 hours and goes through the Tanzanian countryside.

Tarangire is famous for its huge herds of elephants, towering baobab trees, and stunning views. During your game drive, you’ll likely see elephants up close, as well as giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, warthogs, and many birds. Tarangire is also home to big cats like lions and leopards.

You’ll have a picnic lunch inside the park and enjoy your last game drive before heading back to Arusha. Your safari ends in Arusha in the evening, and we’ll drop you off at your hotel or the airport, depending on your next plan.
