Day to day Best of Tanzania Safari Itinerary
Day 1:
Arusha to Tarangire National Park to Karatu
After breakfast in Arusha, you will drive about three hours to Tarangire National Park. This park is famous for having many elephants. You will enjoy a nice game drive, looking for animals, and have a picnic lunch inside the park. The park is very beautiful with big trees, rivers, and open grasslands where many animals come to drink water.
On your game drive, you can see elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and maybe even lions resting in trees. If you are lucky, you might also see a cheetah or hyenas. After the game drive, you will drive to Karatu town and spend the night at the lovely Farm of Dreams Lodge.

Travel Time
From Arusha to Tarangire National Park, it takes about 2 hours by car. After your game drive in Tarangire, driving from Tarangire to Karatu takes around 2 to 2.5 hours. So, in total, you will spend about 4 to 5 hours on the road, not counting the time you stop for safari or lunch. The roads are good, and the drive is very beautiful with lots of views along the way.
Day 2:
Karatu to Serengeti Central for Game Drive
After breakfast at your lodge in Karatu, you will start a long and beautiful drive to the famous Serengeti National Park. The drive takes about four hours, but you will enjoy the views of villages, forests, and open lands along the way. When you arrive in Serengeti, you will go straight for a game drive to look for animals.
Serengeti is a very big park and home to many animals. You can see lions, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, and maybe even the wildebeest migration if you are lucky. The land is flat and wide, and you can see animals everywhere. After the game drive, you will go to your camp, Tukaone Serengeti Camp, for dinner and a good night’s rest.

Day 3:
Full Day Serengeti Central Experience
Today you will spend a full day exploring the beautiful Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, you will go on a long game drive across the open plains. You will have lots of time to look for wild animals like lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and many more. Keep your camera ready because you might see animals hunting, playing, or relaxing.
If you are lucky, you might also see the amazing wildebeest migration, where thousands of animals move across the plains. The Serengeti is full of surprises and every moment is exciting. In the evening, you will return to Tukaone Serengeti Camp for dinner and another peaceful night under the African stars.

Day 4:
Game Drive in Serengeti along the way towards Ngorongoro
After an early breakfast, you will go on a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park. Morning is a great time to see animals because they are active and hunting. You will have more chances to see lions, cheetahs, elephants, and many other animals before leaving the park.
Later, you will drive towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On the way, you will still enjoy seeing animals along the road. In the afternoon, you will arrive in Karatu town and check-in at the Farm of Dreams Lodge. Here you can relax and get ready for another exciting day tomorrow

Travel Time
From Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area gate, it takes about 2.5 to 3 hours driving. After you enter Ngorongoro, you drive across the crater rim to get out — this can take about 1 to 1.5 hours depending on stops and traffic. From the Ngorongoro gate down to Karatu town is very close, about 15 to 20 minutes. So, in total, you will spend around 4 to 5 hours on the road, depending if you stop for photos or lunch. The drive is beautiful, with chances to see animals along the way.
Day 5:
Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive to Arusha for flight to Zanzibar
After breakfast, you will drive to the famous Ngorongoro Crater. You will go down into the crater, which is like a huge natural bowl full of animals. Here you have a very good chance to see the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino – as well as zebras, wildebeest, and many other animals. You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater with beautiful views all around you.
After your game drive, you will drive back to Arusha Airport. From there, you will catch a short flight to Zanzibar Island. When you arrive in Zanzibar, a driver will pick you up and take you to your hotel, the lovely Zanzibar Serena Hotel, where you will relax and enjoy the beach.

You can spend your days swimming, sunbathing, or exploring the island. If you want, you can book some activities on the spot and enjoy the tropical paradise at your own pace. Every evening, you will return to your hotel, Zanzibar Serena Hotel, to enjoy delicious meals and beautiful views.
