Tanzania Visa Information
Do I Need a Visa for Tanzania?
If you’re traveling from Europe or the USA, you will most likely need a visa to enter Tanzania. Check here for a list of countries that don’t need a visa.
How Do I Apply for a Visa to Tanzania?
Although you can get a tourist visa when you arrive at the Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, or Zanzibar airports, it’s better to apply for one in your home country before your trip. You can apply online at Tanzania Visa Application.
Apply at least two weeks before you travel to allow enough time for processing. The application takes about 20-40 minutes, and you’ll need to have these documents ready:
- A copy of your passport (scanned and saved on your computer)
- Your e-ticket (saved on your computer)
- A passport-size photo (scanned and saved on your computer)
If you’re close to your departure date and can’t complete the online application, you can get a visa at the airport on arrival. You’ll need to pay in cash, in USD only.
