Day 1:
Arusha – Momella Gate – Miriakamba Hut
Altitude Gain: 1,500m to 2,500m
Hiking Time: 5–6 hours
Distance: 10 km (approx.)
Meals: Lunch & Dinner
Overnight: Miriakamba Hut
We begin early from Arusha and drive to Momella Gate inside Arusha National Park (around 1.5–2 hours). After registration and meeting your guide and armed park ranger, we start the hike.
The trail begins in forest zones, where you may see buffalo, giraffes, warthogs, and blue monkeys. This day is scenic, with gentle climbs through green landscapes. We stop for lunch along the way and continue to Miriakamba Hut, where we rest and sleep for the night.
📝 Expert Tip: Carry enough water and stay hydrated. Altitude sickness can begin on day one, so walk slowly and take breaks.
Day 2:
Miriakamba Hut – Socialist Peak – Momella Gate – Arusha
Altitude Gain: 2,500m to 4,566m
Altitude Loss: Down to 1,500m
Hiking Time: 10–14 hours
Distance: 20 km (approx.)
Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
We wake up around midnight and start the summit climb by 1:00 AM. This early hike helps us reach Socialist Peak by sunrise, giving you stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.
The path climbs steeply through Saddle Hut and passes the Rhino Point and Cobra Point before the final push to the summit.
After enjoying the summit, we descend all the way back to Momella Gate, where your driver from Seko Tours will be waiting to take you back to Arusha. It’s a long, tough day, but very rewarding.
